Governor General Gold Medal
This Thursday, June 22, 2023, I will be attending convocation at York University, where I will formally receive my PhD degree. In addition, I will be awarded a Dissertation Prize "in recognition of the outstanding work represented" in my dissertation, as well as a Governor General's Gold Medal. The Governor General's Academic Medal, created by Lord Dufferin in 1873, is considered the highest honour that a Canadian scholar can earn. I join a prestigious list of honourees, such as Kim Campbell and Pierre Trudeau, who have received this award. Please read about the York recipients here.
